In 2020 we created the Commercial Premises Matrix. On a monthly basis an audit and review of the level of shop/office vacancies is undertaken in the Cessnock CBD precinct area, extending to Bellbird through to East Cessnock, with the expected outcomes being a concise and clear inventory, of the stock of real estate which is available at any time for prospective new business opportunities within the CBD. Business 2 Business is a key to success, ensuring that people know who you are, what you are offering, and why they should support you and your business. The Cessnock Business Chamber holds functions throughout the year to ensure likeminded businesses can come together. Our current and upcoming events can be viewed on our events page.

Review documents and reports including the Cessnock CBD Masterplan and Commercial Precinct Project. Complete a matrix on the various events and functions occurring within the Cessnock LGA and determine the level of support from the business community. Prepare recommendations for infrastructure in the CBD, including banners and banner poles, street furniture, signage.

Improving the link between the CBD and carparking, while making these spaces more welcoming, friendly and safe is the main aim of this project. Think the laneways of Melbourne, with a local twist. Supported by local schools and artists, it is a real collaborative effort. The Chamber currently has 4 laneway developed, 5 Ways to Wellbeing, The Coalface, St Phillips Lane and The Chamber Lane.
