December Update from New President

Clint Ekert – President

Who can believe it is already December?! It seems that every year speeds up that little bit each time another one passes!

As we look back at another big year in our Community we look back with pride on some of our projects that have performed above our expectations!

Firstly, I would like to introduce myself as recently elected President for the Cessnock Chamber of Commerce. I have been involved with the organisation for around five years, I have been involved in running a family retail business for the last 12 years, and currently work with Cancer Council NSW in Community Relations.

I love Cessnock and am very passionate about the local area and being able to make a positive difference for our business community. I am approachable and welcome people to pick up the phone and give me a call!

I would like to pay my respects to Geoff Walker who has been a great role model and was in the drivers seat across some of our biggest programs including the implementation of the Cessnock Stomp Festival. I would also like to pay my respects to Alison Davey who has decided not to re stand for a position on the Board of Directors, Alison has been involved for over 25 years in our organisation and will be missed at our board meetings.

Together with our Volunteer board and our Town Coordinator, I am very excited about getting some new projects off the ground while being able to work together on the already successful projects. With that in mind we need feedback from our members, so please feel free to contact us with any suggestions or ideas you would like to see us take up.

Until Next Time, on behalf of our Board I would like to wish all Members and Local Businesses a very Merry Christmas and a Happy, Safe and Prosperous 2018. We look forward to working with you in the new year.

All The Best for the coming Month,

Clint Ekert
President
