December Presidents Newsletter

We recently had the Annual General Meeting for the Chamber and I am pleased to announce that we have some new Committee Members who join a number of our previous Board Members.

I have the honour and privilege to be the President for another 12 months, and I am joined by:

* Rienna De Visser (Vice President)

* Clint Ekert (Secretary)

* Mel Allen (Treasurer)

* Alison Davey (Membership Officer)

* Bronwyn Musgrove (Committee Member)

* Jonathon Rigby (Committee Member)

* Matthew Evans (Committee Member)

* Luke Main (Committee Member)

We still have a vacancy for another Committee Member – please let me know if you are interested.

I would like to particularly thank Sarah Pascoe and Merv Oliver who have done a great job in working on the Committee over the past year. They have decided not to continue as Committee Members this year but along with Sally Chrystal have been appointed as Member Representatives.

The Committee has already started work on the events and activities planned for 2017 and with the help of Zia, our Co-ordinator will continue this focus over the coming weeks.

The festive season is now well and truly upon us and it is great to see the shopping district coming alive with Christmas decorations, lights and displays. The “Seasons Greetings” banners are now up in Vincent Street and I would like to encourage every business to get into the Christmas spirit. It is not too late to decorate your premises.

To give you a well earnt rest, we will not be hosting Breakfast Networking functions in December or January – and look forward to you joining us for the first one for 2017 which will be held on Tuesday, February 14th.

I would like to take this opportunity to wish each and every one of you a very “Merry Christmas” and a happy and prosperous new year.

Best Wishes

Geoff Walker, President
